Upgrade to a larger recycling bin

Sick of your recycling bin being full before collection day? Having to put perfectly good recyclables in the waste bin because there's no room in the recycle bin?

You can now meet your recycling needs by getting a bigger yellow top recycling bin.

The new generation larger recycling bins are now available and will help you increase your recycling effort by an additional 50 per cent!

As an incentive to encourage better recycling, Council is offering to replace your standard yellow top recycling bin with the new larger recycling bin at no additional cost for the first six months of 2012.  From 1 July 2012 ongoing charges for this service will apply.

All property owners who have a standard waste bin and a larger recycling bin from 1 July 2012 onwards, will be charged $20 per annum on top of the standard waste collection fee.

This also applies to those that had a larger recycling bin prior to the current promotion. All property owners that use a larger recycle bin have the option to continue with the upgraded service or revert to standard size, before the additional charge applies.

Those residents who have the old style larger bins are also encouraged to change to the new generation larger recycling bins which have less breakage due to their more robust design.

Both property owners and tenants are eligible to apply.
