2011 Truck Art Poster Competition

The 2011 Truck Art Poster Competition asked primary school students from the Gold Coast to submit a poster showing how we can all, through our everyday actions, contribute to making the Gold Coast a sustainable city.

There were 678 fantatic entries into the competition! There were many great ideas included in the posters including using worm farms and compost bins to recycle our waste, reusing our rubbish and using reusable conainers for our lunch boxes.

Only four entries could be chosen as the winners to receive the prize of having their artwork displayed on one of Gold Coast City Council's waste and recycling collection trucks as well as a Dolphin Aqua Adventure at Seaworld. It was extremely difficult for Councillor Bob La Castra and Leah Fogarty, the Acting 2020 Vision on Waste coordinator to choose the winning entries.

Have a look at the four winning entries and some of the posters that made it into the final round of judging by Cr. La Castra.
