Free of Charge Waste Disposal Policy
The following load types and sizes will only be accepted at Council's Waste Transfer Stations and Landfills free of charge for residents.
Waste Carried in Non-commercial passenger type cars, station sedans and vans, utilities or trailers- Mixed Loads - Max 2.1 metre x 1.5 metre and 600mm in height
- Clean Green Waste- Max 2.1 metre x 1.5 metre and 1 metre in height
Disposal of waste exceeding the above size limits will only be accepted at a Landfill and charged at the appropriate cost per tonne or part thereof.
Important: Certain items including but not limited to hazardous waste and tyres will be charged for disposal. These items cannot be accepted at Transfer Stations and MUST be taken to the landfills.

This transfer station closed permanently on 19 July 2010
All residential waste can be conveyed to Jacobs Well Transfer Station located a short distance from this site, at the corner of Behms Creek Road and Skopps Road, Jacobs Well. Jacobs Well Transfer Station is open 7am to 4:50pm seven days a week, excluding Good Friday and Chistmas Day.

Public weighbridge facilities are located at Suntown and Tugun landfills. All landfills have weighbridges for registration purposes, but only these two landfills can be used for public weighing.

Note: Minimum charge for asbestos up to 250kg, concrete up to 50kg, mixed waste up to 220kg, green waste up to 260kg and polystyrene up to 20kg.
* These items at selected landfills only.
EPA guidelines state: Asbestos must be wetted and wrapped in plastic for transportation and must be placed on the ground with bundles intact.
