Council Commercial Services

Gold Coast Waste Management offers businesses an extensive range of waste management services.  These range from kerbside commercial waste and commingled recycling collections, to landfill access for recycling or disposal of commercial and industrial waste.

Council is able to provide waste and recycling collection services to any commercial premise within the service area in the Gold Coast City. Waste and recycling services can also be arranged for special events.

Types of bins available

There are three types of bins available:

  • wheelie bins

  • bulk containers

  • roll-on, roll-off (RORO) containers

If your business or body corporate would like to set up a new waste or recycling collection service with Council or alter your existing service, you can download the New or Altered Bin Service application form here. Technical officers are available to help you assess your needs on your site by phoning (07) 5581 6799. A completed Indemnity form is also required to complete the application.

Temporary waste and recycling collection services can also be requested. Businesses can order additional services for a period of up to three months by completing the Additional Rated Bin Services form. Waste and recycling bins required for an event or function can otherwise be ordered by event organisers using the pre-paid Functions and Events form.

  • Commercial waste wheelie bins can be serviced up to seven days per week.  Wheelie bin sizes are 140 litre, 240 litre, and 360 litre.
  • Bulk waste containers can be serviced as required, up to seven days per week.  Bulk bin sizes have recently changed, so contact Council for the various bulk waste container sizes available.
  • Roll-On Roll-Off  (RORO) containers are for waste only, and can be serviced as required, up to seven days per week. RORO waste container sizes are 10, 15, 20, and 23 cubic metres.
  • Bulk waste bin cleaning services are also available on application. 

Compacted Bulk Waste Services and Compacted RORO Services can also be arranged, but users of such services must provide their own waste compactor and waste bin.

Council is committed to diverting waste from landfill and encourages the recycling of suitable materials where possible. Recycling is not only good for the environment, but can assist you to make considerable savings on your waste removal bill.

Types of items that can be collected for recycling include:bulk recycling bin

  • glass jars and bottles (no other glass items are acceptable)
  • rigid plastic containers (excluding styrofoam)
  • aluminium cans, steel cans and aerosols
  • clean cardboard, newspapers, magazines and cartons

A commercial recycling service can be provided by Council for 140 litre, 240litre or 360 litre wheelie bins which can be serviced fortnightly.

Bulk recycling containers are also available. Contact Council for information on the various sizes and possible collection frequency.

Bulk recycling bin cleaning services are also available on application.
